Another cloudy, rainy day...
So I'll admit I'm having... sewer's/writer's block. Well, sort of. I also don't have the time to sew. I need ideas on what I should make. This is some of what I have (I actually debated on whether I should or shouldn't take a pic of the whole closet... but it's a *tiny* bit messy).
1. Gray stripe jersey from my slouchy tee tutorial. I'm thinking maybe a shrug...
2. Some weird red knit fabric. It feels like a soccer jersey; kind of cheapy (not knit jersey, sport jersey). It's a kind of tomatoe-orangey red.
3. Green jersey scraps.
4. Gray polka dot jersey. Very soft; my sister made herself a skirt with it. Maybe I'll post a tutorial with her permission.
5. Heathered purple knit. Sort of thick, like a double knit. Kind of a grape color.
6. Thin gray jersey knit. Yummy (haha, I know my toe's sticking out at the bottom, but i figure you should eventually find out about how I take my pics).
7. Cranberry lycra.
8. Navy blue jersey.
You might not be able to tell, but I like knits. Pleeease give me some ideas or tutorials I could do with these fabrics! Thanks!

Knits indeed! I found this tutorial for a circle wrap skirt... maybe this? http://thecraftingchicks.com/2011/07/7834.html
ReplyDeleteOr for tops, Sachiko has some cute ones...http://tearosehome.blogspot.com/2010/01/tutorialruffle-shirt.html
Hope this helps!
i really like your polka dot jersey!
ReplyDeleteThe heathered purple knit might make some cute pajama shorts. Also, the all the knits would make great circle scarves!
ReplyDeleteCranberry Cotton Lycra is perfect for yoga pants! They have a good tutorial @ Teensew.blogspot.com to use 2
ReplyDeleteOh my! I would DIE if I had that much knit!!!!!!! :) There are so many possibilities…. and like everyone says, no hemming!!!!!! :D
ReplyDeleteWow I wish I had so much knit fabric! I cannot find it anywhere around here. :( I would suggest making a maxi skirt if you had enough of any of it. This is a photo for something I've been dying to make but just don't have the fabric: http://asmallsnippet.blogspot.com/2012/05/from-sheet-to-maxi-skirt.html. It's not a tutorial, but I don't think it would be hard to figure out. Here is an adorable headband made with a scrap of jersey fabric and some lace...again just the photo: http://www.etsy.com/listing/57667482/rustic-green-stretch-trimmed-scarf?ref=v1_other_2. And finally a super cute scarf tutorial using jersey fabric and the shirring technique: http://www.makeit-loveit.com/2012/01/randomly-shirred-and-stretchy-scarf.html.
ReplyDeleteI know this post you wrote is older, but maybe you still have some of the fabric so hopefully these suggestions are helpful!
