Hello blog lovers! I am Adeela from Sew Kool and I love sewing, crocheting and just plain crafting.

Here is a tutorial on how to make these beautiful ruffled fabric streamers.

You will need:
-fabric scraps (try to get one's with the selvedge)
-sewing machine
-pinking shears
-basic sewing supplies

First cut your pieces 3" wide along the selvedge (if you don't have the selvedge on it then just finish the edges however way you want to). Remember when cutting the pieces that it will end up half the length that you cut it.

If you need to, piece strips together to get the length you want. Then overlap two long strips about 3/4" like this: (just don't have that space)

Now to gather, most people do it by doing a basting stitch and pulling the threads, you can do that if you want to. But The way I do it is I set my machine to a basting stitch (lengthen the stitch).

Then I set my tension to the highest it will go, which is 9.

And sew away! But if you don't get as much gathers as you want, hold the thread and and just let it run through your fingers and you get perfect gathers.

After you finish gathering it you can finish the short edges. I used pinking shears.

And you're done!

Hang it around your house with all it's cuteness.

Thanks for having me Naomi.
