Today I'm guest posting over at Sew Kool. Hop on over for my 20 minute fleece rainboot liner tutorial.

They make your boots lovely and soft. They're super easy and good for a lazy sewer... like me.

Brown Paper Packages tied up w/ String: Tutorial

Dunno why I'm posting this... Guess because Christmas is coming!!! This is an easy way to wrap a gift without tape. I love the vintage look the twine and brown paper provides. I know I'd want a package wrapped in brown paper and string...

Materials: brown wrapping paper (kraft-type paper), string, scissors

Cut out a large sheet of paper. Place your gift in the center.
Fold the sides in towards the center over your gift.

Fold the bottom up.

Fold the top down.

Tuck the bottom flap into the top flap and wrap with string.

Go give someone a present.

Bow Earwarmer Knitting Pattern

One of my winter inspired projects... a bow earwarmer! A nice gift for someone who wants to keep their ears warm. Modeled, per usual, by my sister.
Materials: US 15 needles, 2 balls of worsted weight yarn or 1 ball of super bulky yarn (you don't need a lot), darning needle, and scissors

With two strands held together (or 1 strand if you're using super bulky yarn), cast on 8 stitches. If you want it wider, cast on more stitches. Knit till it can fit snugly around your head while stretching it. Bind off. Sew the two ends together. To make it bunch up, pull the end of the yarn you're using to seam the headband until it scrunches up. Now wrap some yarn around the bunching for the middle of your bow, tie the ends off, and you're done!

Tis the Season of Christmas (5 things)!

Love Christmas. Makes me think of plush blankets and cocoa and thick coats and cozy sweaters. I get to wear boots and sweatpants and lots of warm sweatshirts. Things I want/need to do + winter pinsperation:

1. Drink hot chocolate out of a jar. (frozen is fine too) The recipe's there if you click on the link. It looks lovely. However, I need a jar first.

2. Knit my sister's friend a bow earwarmer.

3. Sneak around and make presents behind everyone's back.

4. Knit a sweater.

5. Comfy winter outfit.

Merry Christmas!
Happy Holidays!

Lightbulb Notebook

A little notebook for all your 'bright' ideas, heh heh (I know, I know; I'm so clever)...

Based on this notebook from etsy and this tutorial.
Made out of a Cheez-It box and handsewn together after making holes with a thumbtack. What a pain. :/ The lightbulb was drawn on with Sharpie. :)

Probably going to become a Christmas present. Have a great day!

(22 days till Christmas!)
