Chocolate Chippy Scones

Just a quick post to express my love for chocolate. And scones. And chocolate chip scones. My dad made these Friday and I'm having 'em everyday for breakfast with warm milk. You should totes make some (lol, I love saying slangs like that. It sounds stupid coming from me, but...).
Peace out, homes.

Masks and Whoopie Pies

The theme that my class voted for for the graduation dance this year is masquerade. Which is fun. But now I need a mask. I'd really like a wire one, but I have no idea how to make one. Any suggestions or tutorials? Something like this:

Gorgeous, right?

Or there's another pretty one here:

I know it's not until a few months, but I want to start making it.

On another note, we made whoopie pies on sunday! The mix was a gift from a friend. They were pretty good; not bad for our first try.

They're a bit lumpy, but you know... I like them, at least. That's what counts, right?

Help me... + a Fabric Tour

Another cloudy, rainy day...
So I'll admit I'm having... sewer's/writer's block. Well, sort of. I also don't have the time to sew. I need ideas on what I should make. This is some of what I have (I actually debated on whether I should or shouldn't take a pic of the whole closet... but it's a *tiny* bit messy).

1. Gray stripe jersey from my slouchy tee tutorial. I'm thinking maybe a shrug...

2. Some weird red knit fabric. It feels like a soccer jersey; kind of cheapy (not knit jersey, sport jersey). It's a kind of tomatoe-orangey red.

3. Green jersey scraps.
4. Gray polka dot jersey. Very soft; my sister made herself a skirt with it. Maybe I'll post a tutorial with her permission.

5. Heathered purple knit. Sort of thick, like a double knit. Kind of a grape color.

6. Thin gray jersey knit. Yummy (haha, I know my toe's sticking out at the bottom, but i figure you should eventually find out about how I take my pics).

7. Cranberry lycra.

8. Navy blue jersey.
You might not be able to tell, but I like knits. Pleeease give me some ideas or tutorials I could do with these fabrics! Thanks!

Finished Objects (of affection)

Crocheting a scrubby (pattern).
Knitting a monster messenger bag.

Listening to music from Mulan.

The usual.

I'm sorry for lack of creative posts, but I'm sooo busy. And yes, that is partially an excuse for my bad posts and it is also partially true. Right after this I've got basketball practice. So please excuse my behavior. And yes, I don't like it either when bloggers disappear for months on end with no warning. I'd never do that. Well. I dunno. Maybe I would.

Apple Jumper

I really want to make this! I think it's super cute.

My mom just bought a five pack of plain, white Hanes v-neck tees for me and my sister. They make me happy. They're like a blank canvas.
(via here)
I can't wait to draw on them. Here's another idea for decorating.

Slouchy Hat Pattern

As I've said before, I just opened a new Ravelry shop, and I currently have... 2 patterns! My newest one is a slouchy hat. I did this 'photo shoot' on Christmas day, which was fun. I may have mentioned before that I knit this for my sister's Christmas present. I knit it with 2 strands of worsted weight yarn held together in a teal color with cheapy Red Heart Super Savers. I don't really like it, as it's scratchy and stiff, but I'm not willing to spend a ton on something amazing like...mmm...Malabrigo? I don't know; I use mostly yarn you find in a craft store. However, after blocking and washing it'll loosen up.

This is the perfect project for a beginner, as it's super duper easy. It's knit with big needles and super bulky yarn, or two strands of worsted weight held together. It can be knit in the round, too, for an even quicker knit. You could start in the morning, finish by noon, and wrap it up for your friend's birthday present in the evening. Well, I don't know if I could go that fast, but... maybe you could? I'd use a more quality yarn, however, like Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (yes, to me that's extremely good quality). It's super long so if you're not 'digging' the slouchy look, you can fold up the brim for a beanie.

Yes, I know, I look creepy from the side with my nerd glasses on like that... like some creeper... but I promise you, I'm smiling.

This is really fun to knit; instant gratification. Please take the time to look! Thanks! :)

Satin J. Crew Dress Inspiration

Lately I've been browsing sites like J. Crew and Anthropologie. I don't know why, considering I can't afford anything there. But I guess it's just for inspiration. I want to try and make this dress by J. Crew one day, maybe for a special occasion.

I can use this pattern on Burdastyle...

And instead of the pleating, I can add a center panel using this technique (because I'm lazy and don't want to try and figure out the pleating on the bodice from the original).

Then for the bottom, I'll just add a pleated skirt.

A New Year

My first blog post of 2012! I'm going to make some resolutions for myself.

1. Make this draped cardigan.
2. Make my graduation dress.
3. Blog more.
4. Get along more with my sister and family.
5. Plus a lot of other things I may or may not be able to do.

Obviously I need to add some... :p I hope you all know I'm very grateful for every follower! Thanks so much for still being here!
