Tissue Pom Poms

I mentioned before that I have a dance at school. It's tomorrow, and for decor I made some tissue paper pom poms, like the one from Martha Stewart! Everyone thought they were nice, but I guess when you don't like artsy stuff you think everything creative takes a looong time. They were hard to make though... It took me, like, forever to make all the paper in a nice, even stack. People are always commenting on those tutorials saying, these took me 10 minutes to make! I'm like: these take me 10 minutes to stack!

Anyways, don't take me to a dance with you. I'll embarrass you so badly with my awesome dance moves... just kidding. But really, I will embarrass you badly. I'm a really bad dancer... You'll be in great danger if you're near me...

Here they are, about to be taken to school. I was going to do 10 of them, but I got lazy. They look a bit illegal almost...

Rainy Day...

Playing Jenga by myself in my room, trying to beat the record of tallest tower--29.88 inches--and shouting POO every time it falls.

Oh, poo.

I hate restacking.

My New Hat: Missoni for Target

My aunt got me a new hat. It's by Missoni from Target. Innit pretty?

Though I'll admit it's a bit tight... But I'm sure my big head shall surely loosen it up, hmmm? And it's supposed to be a beanie--aren't beanies supposed to fit tightly to your head? At least, that's what I keep telling myself.

And I am already thinking of eighth grade graduation dresses--to make, that is--even though school's just started.

Shrugs

I want to sew a shrug outta some jersey. Dunno why. Just think they're kind of cool and comfy looking. Here's some inspiration:

I love the pullover style like the above left, or like jmorco below.

all above are from jmorco.

It's not even like I'm a dancer or yogi or gymnast. I just think that they're cool. I WANT ONE.

'Kay. See you later. Bye. o(^__^o)

Earwarmer, a Bracelet, and Angry Birds

I took out the crochet hook and, with a scrap of gray yarn left over from my infinity scarf, made a little earwarmer. 'Course, I ran out of yarn halfway there, so it might only cover half of my ears. I used a size J hook (i crocheted very loosely), even though I was supposed to use size 15 (was the letter... P?), but I lost my super big crochet hook that I carved myself (sounds impressive, but it's not. It's just this ultra big chopstick with a very rough hook and a skinny tapered end. So it looks like a regular chopstick with some funky hook, obviously carved by someone with no experience. I carved it on the carpet on my bedroom floor with a Swiss army knife).

I also made a macrame bracelet. I thought about giving it away, but it's not very good. If I make something worthy enough for you readers I'll give it away.

And finally, my aunt came back from vacation! And she brought us some... angry birds notebooks and pencils! Aren't they cool? Yes, yes, I think so too...

Roundup of DIY things... or you know, random things...

Sorry for not posting... I'm busy with school. Yeurch. Anyways, I decided I'd have a roundup of things from Pinterest. I've been inspired by decor stuff 'cause our school is going to have a dance and I'm helping out. Though normally I wouldn't even go, but you get your tickets free since you help out... and those tickets buy food, so... why would you pass up free food, right?

Thanks for coming! If you like the things you see, you can follow me on Pinterest. :) See ya...

Wrap Bracelet Tutorial

Back-to-basic macrame bracelet. It was supposed to be like a Free People or Chan Luu wrap bracelet, but it doesn't really look like one anyways... oh well. ;)

Materials

~kitchen twine/string
~scissors

Cut 2 very long lengths of string. Mine were approximately 172" long. Fold them both in half and tie a knot about 1/2" down from the top. You now have 2 little loops at the top with 4 strings. Now start macrame-ing.

Here's a lil' picture tutorial. If it's confusing, just look up another tutorial, haha...

Macrame till it's the desired length. Just hold one end and wrap it loosely around your wrist. Mine's approximately 32." When you're done, tie a knot, and then tie a knot over it for the toggle part of your clasp. Dun, dun, dun... No really. You're done.

Have a good weeeeeekeeeeennnndddd..... o(^__^o)

Yay! So while eating a pack of seaweed, I checked the dashboard to find that--yep--I had reached 100 followers! Thank you everyone so much! I'm thinking of doing a giveaway, so if anyone's interested in giving something away, just leave a comment w/ your email and I'll contact you. :) If anyone's not interested, I'll probably just forget about it or I'll make something myself maybe. If I have time, that is...

You can definitely say I'll try and have a big giveaway when i reach 1000, which won't happen in a long time, haha. o(^__^o)

Best Thrift Store Ever: Grandma's Basement

Okay, so Grandma's Basement isn't some cool, funky little second-hand shop. It is, quite literally, my, ahem, erm, Grandma's basement. She does, however, have the best things down there! She has old toys and clothes, and even a whole box full of plaid and stripe socks and legwarmers from the 70s and 80s.

And of course, she was happy to give her grandchildren (my sister and me) old clothes.

Here are some 'finds,' haha.

A beautiful oversized olive green sweater from GAP. 100% cotton. In the winter I might wear it over leggings and shorts or something. With rain boots. :)

Camo green sweatshirt. I wanna refashion it into something like... pants? Hmmm... what do you think?

Green button up vest. My sister wore it to school today and got many compliments, haha. She always likes to say that the 80s are back! (or 60s or 70s or whatever)

A flannel coat. My sister and I plan on taking in the sides and adding pleats in the back to make the coat more fitted.

A super big waffle hoodie. Wonder what we can make with this...

Also some super cool belts...

Not pictured are some awesome socks, a rash guard that I plan on refashioning, a hawaiian print shirt that my sister wants to make some high waisted flowy shorts from, a blue v-neck sweater, and a button up shirt. Dunno if I missed something...

Oh, and I won the giveaway from Hannah Handmade! I won some hair things from Belle Bands on etsy! You should go visit her shop because her stuff is GORGEOUS!

Sorry about not posting... I'm in school now. I just started yesterday. Whoohoo.

Have a nice day! o(^__^o)
